The world that we live in today is in a constant battle to fight corruption, famine, deceases and racism among other things. On top of this we have events that come and go that can create havoc and tension between nations such as the Arab spring or European debt crisis. Because of these things there is a growing obligation for the global citizens of the world to do whatever they can to take a stand and make a change for the better. The C.A.R.E model is a concept in which can teach us the values of being an active and caring global citizen. As well as teach us how to take a stand against and issue that is important to us. A global citizen is someone who conforms to this model. The C.A.R.E model stands for compassion, action, responsibility, and equality. Compassion means to show that you care, it is essentially the driving force behind anything someone does well. Action is the part that is created through compassion and what is going to make things work. Things cannot be changed without taking action. Responsibility means to know what you can do, and knowing that you will give anything your best. Lastly equality is what everyone should strive for to take any pre determined prejudices out of your head to fight for a greater good. Treat everyone equally. Each part of this model is necessary to become a truly caring global citizen.
